December: The Season of Darkness and Light
Our December meeting falls in a time of literal darkness with days getting shorter. It is also a time of figurative darkness with the mythology that the holiday season is all joy and parties. Some of us have been dealing with heavy issues and concerns lately, on top of the pressures of an extended pandemic.
So for this meeting, let’s spend some time celebrating the light within each other.
It can often be a challenge to see our own progress and successes, so this is an opportunity for others to shine the light on your goodness and growth. In other words, take this time to be a mirror reflecting the light you see in each member of your wForum.
Can you name and articulate the progress you have witnessed in each member during challenging or disappointing situations?
How are you inspired by her resilience or resourcefulness?
December of 2021 begins with Chanukah and the ritual lighting of Chanukah candles, to bring a little bit of light into the world and remind us of hope and miracles.
3. Where are you finding the light inside of you? How can you kindle that light to sustain you in the weeks ahead?
Finally, close your meeting with a little Ritual: Prepare a wish for each member and if you have one available, we can each light a candle to ignite that wish and send it out into the world.
Flying Wish Paper is another option.
